Although we don’t buy domestic (home use) machines, we do occasionally take them in part exchange. Please call the shop on 01254 693555 for more information on this.

Domestic Repairs

Schools, Colleges and Universities
We do also offer machine services/repairs to schools, colleges and universities. If this is something you would be interested in then please contact us on 01254 693555 or email info@hobkirk.co.uk for a quote.
Domestic
If you would like your domestic machine serviced/repaired an appointment is not needed. Just bring your machine down to our store and we will book it in for you. Please note the machine will need to be left with us and as soon as it is ready, we will contact you to let you know.
If you would like a same day repair, please call and book an appointment in advance to ensure our technician is available.
Industrial
For any industrial service/repairs an appointment is needed. Please contact us via telephone 01254 693555 or email info@hobkirk.co.uk to book this in with us. We offer both on site and in house repairs.
Schools, Colleges and Universities
All work carried out for schools, colleges and universities are appointment based. Please contact us on 01254 693555 or email info@hobkirk.co.uk to book your visit in. Our engineer is DBS cleared.
We no longer offer a printing and embroidery service however, if you are interested in purchasing the machines / software needed to print and embroider your own garments, please feel free to contact us via email info@hobkirk.co.uk or telephone 01254 693555

We can often see your failed order on our system, allowing us to see exactly what you tried to buy, how much for and why it failed. With this information we can help you process your order using one of the two options below.
Option 1
We can process the order over the phone for you where you can pay using your card. You will then receive an invoice via email (if required) and your card receipt with the goods.
Option 2
We can send you an invoice via email for payment to be made by a bank transfer.
However you wish to proceed is no problem, we are always happy to help.
We are pleased to offer a fair and equitable returns policy, which is in addition to your statutory rights.
Should your purchase disappoint you in any way, you may return your order, provided you notify us before or within 14 days of delivery. Your product must be complete, unused and in 'as new' condition (e.g., if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in any way). It should be returned at your cost with the original box, packing and accessories.
If for any reason your order arrives damaged or faulty then please contact Hobkirks within 72hrs of the delivery, we will then be able to help resolve the issue accordingly.
Please note: we do not accept returns on anything that is cut to order. Should your order arrive faulty or damaged, please contact us to discuss replacement products.
If you wish to cancel your order at any time, please call us on 01254 693555 or email info@hobkirk.co.uk before your order status is changed to ‘shipped’.
If ordered before 2pm, your order will normally be dispatched the same day. In some circumstances this may not be possible due to an item being out of stock, or if there are issues with the courier collection. Royal Mail 1st class should arrive within one working day (excluding weekend and bank holidays) however this is not guaranteed. Orders with a value over £50 will be sent by Royal Mail 1st class signed for, where a signature will be required upon delivery. In exceptional circumstances, we ask that you give orders dispatched by Royal Mail up to 14 days to arrive.
If your order is over 2kg or includes oils and sprays, this will be dispatched by DPD next working day delivery. A premium Saturday delivery is available for an additional postage charge, if this is something you would require, please make contact before placing your order.
Extra-large / heavy products such as industrial sewing machines will be sent via HMT Pallets. The pallet will be delivered to your chosen address and the driver will lower the pallet from his lorry outside your premises. At this point you will be responsible for the pallet and its contents. An adjustable spanner and scissors will be required for taking industrial sewing machines off of their pallets.
We regret that we are unable to specify exact delivery times for courier services however you should receive tracking information via text or email if your order has been sent by DPD.
